A mysterious plant growing in the side yard...

But then I realized the mysterious plants used to look like this. Seems like the chickens have been feasting on this salad bar.

These bloomed this week

Ellen is visiting this week and has been cooking for us and making lovely flower arrangements for the house. She also spent the whole day today shoveling about 6 tons of dirt with us for the new garden beds. Thanks, Ellen! You are a good friend :)

Since her injury two weeks ago, she has recovered nicely and is back with the other hens. You can see that she is limping a little because her left side is a little weak, and she cant run as fast or as far, but she is in good spirits.

Check out the old red paint that was behind the cabinets. Our whole kitchen was that color when we move in. It took 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of paint to cover it up.
